Clinical Psychologist

Katherine has a longstanding interest and passion in working with individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD and complex co-morbid mental health issues. She completed a degree in psychology at the University of Edinburgh before pursuing a career in Clinical Psychology, completing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Glasgow. Katherine has worked for over 15 years in a range of NHS settings, most recently at the Service for Complex Autism and Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorders (SCAAND) at the Michael Rutter Centre, Maudsley Hospital in London. Prior to this she was part of the Centre for Interventional Paediatric Psychopharmacology team, also at the Maudsley, who were awarded Psychiatric Team Of The Year at the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Awards 2015.
Katherine has gained extensive experience in completing comprehensive assessments with training in specialised psychometric assessment tools including the ADOS-2, ADI-R and Weschler IQ Scales. She strives to be approachable, empathic and non-judgemental in all interactions with those she works with, and especially endeavours to gain an understanding of every individual’s unique experience, taking a strengths focused approach in addition to helping make sense of the difficulties and challenges they might encounter.
In her spare time, Katherine enjoys reading, Pilates, running, travelling and spending quality time with family and friends.
