Benefits of Diagnosing Autism for Adults

Receiving an accurate diagnosis of autism is a transformative step that helps individuals and families take meaningful action to address challenges and unlock opportunities. A diagnosis provides clarity, allowing a person to minimise the difficulties associated with autism while maximising their potential. It enables tailored support, enhances self-understanding, and improves overall quality of life.
A diagnosis offers insight into personal experiences, helping adults better understand their behaviours and needs.
Facilitates clearer communication with family, friends, and colleagues, strengthening relationships.
Adults can request reasonable adjustments at work under the Equality Act 2010 to support their performance and well-being.
Provides a framework for addressing co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression.
Access to autism-specific support groups and resources.
Adults with autism may qualify for benefits such as Personal Independence Payments (PIP) and housing support.

Benefits of Diagnosing Autism for Children

Gain access to specialised educational plans, such as Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCP), to ensure your child receives appropriate support in their learning environment.
Early identification allows for speech and language interventions that foster better communication.
Understanding autism helps children build meaningful relationships with peers, supported by tailored social skills programmes.
Eligibility for therapies like speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and sensory integration interventions.
A diagnosis provides parents with the tools and resources to support their child effectively and advocate for their needs

Book An Initial Autism Assessment

Our online diagnostic assessment brings expert insight right to your screen – whenever you’re ready, wherever you feel most comfortable. Because understanding yourself shouldn’t be complicated.

Our Initial Screening Consultation is a 15-minute video session with an ADOS-2 trained autism specialist. During this consultation:

  • The specialist will assess whether you or your child are demonstrating signs of autism.
  • This is not a diagnostic assessment, and no formal diagnosis will be provided during this session.
  • By the end of the consultation, the specialist will offer one of two recommendations:
    1. Unlikely to Benefit from a Full Autism Assessment: If no significant signs of autism are observed, the specialist will advise against proceeding with a full assessment, saving you unnecessary financial burden.
    2. Likely to Benefit from a Full Autism Assessment: If signs of autism are identified, the specialist will recommend a detailed and comprehensive assessment to determine a positive or negative diagnosis.

Interest-free instalment payment options and plans are available

Why Choose the £15 Initial Screening Consultation?

The initial screening consultation helps identify the symptoms you’re experiencing to determine if pursuing a full autism assessment would be beneficial for you.

During the initial screening consultation, you’ll have a 15-minute video session with an ADOS-2 specialist. They will ask you about your symptoms, including questions about your childhood, how you manage daily challenges, and other aspects of your experiences. The session is informal, and we strive to make it as relaxed and stress-free as possible.
  • Financial Consideration: A full autism assessment is a significant financial undertaking (£1,625). The screening helps ensure only those who are likely to benefit proceed, avoiding unnecessary expense.
  • Clarity and Guidance: The consultation offers immediate expert insight, providing peace of mind and a clear next step.
  • Convenience: Conducted via video consultation, the screening is accessible and can be arranged quickly.

*Note: this screening test is not diagnostic.

After your initial screening consultation, you will receive an email with the findings of the screening. This email will indicate whether a full diagnostic assessment would be beneficial for you. The email will also include a link to book your full assessment. If you decide to proceed with the full diagnostic assessment, the 15GBP fee paid for the initial screening will be deducted from the cost of the full assessment.
